Serenity

There is something beautiful in the serenity of a place seemingly untouched by the rest of the world. Accessible only by 4WD, Five Rocks is one such place. Surrounded by the rough bushland of the Australian coast, the long, rugged track opens out to a pristine stretch of fine yellow sand and crystal clear sea reflecting the deep blue of the sky above.
This special place is one full of memories to so many. I remember piling into the train of five or six 4WD with a bunch of church kids, tumbling out at the other end to spend an afternoon tobogganing down the steep sandy banks on old boogy boards. I love hearing of our dear friend's camping trips year after year, as their little family grows and each tiny member adds to the memories forged on it's sandy banks as they learn to build sandcastles and jump over the waves that lap the shoreline. My heart warms at the photos from my husband's mates day trips, one of them documenting the train of 4WDs with their new drone as they make their bumpy way to the stunning lookout, the water sparkling beneath on another perfect Queensland day.
I have chosen to capture the iconic view of the five rocks that gives this beautiful place it's name. Looking out from the top of the sandy banks lining the beach, there is a peacefulness that is hard to describe with words, breathing in the familiar scent of the sea and listening to waves as they wash back and forth across the sand. The warmth of the sun brings life to this beautiful place, showing off the bright yellow of the sand against the deep blue-green of the sea sparkling in it's radiant light. As the warmth of the sun touches my skin, so it too seeps down into my heart as it overflows with thankfulness to the One who made it all.
