To me, a bunch of flowers is friendship. Bringing a little of the joy of the outside world into the welcoming sanctuary of one's home. It is gathering together the beauty around us to recreate on a canvas at the kitchen table, sipping tea and enjoying the silence in the warmth of each other's presence. It is the surprise belated birthday present after a long-awaited catch-up, the physical representation of their love. It is the special delivery at a time of grief, the reminder that there is still colour and joy in life in the form of friends that will always be there when you need them. And it is the celebration of a hard-earned achievement, the bright colours bursting from their ribbon a reflection of the joy shared by those who have seen your hard work, and have been there through it to see you to the end. 
An endless fascination, the beautiful combination of different friendships I have been blessed with show me something new each time I sit to reflect on their presence in my life. Like a beautiful bunch of flowers, with different colour and shape and form, texture and scent, each of my friends is so different, yet so beautiful and precious. Each a beautiful gift from my Heavenly Father. He knew I needed them both to lean on in the difficult times, and to share in the joys. Each so different, so beautiful in their own right, always there when I need them, constantly surprising me with their patience and love. This beautiful bouquet of friendships continues to bring colour and joy to my life. Though, unlike most bouquets which gradually wilt and fade, this one lasts a lifetime.
